When Do YOU Run?

When do you run? Like I said, let's make a list so we all know who we can join and when. When you comment, include the following information: days, times, where you meet, the type of workout you like to do (time or milage, speedwork, tempo). Also, include your other workouts if you bike or swim and wouldn't mind some company.

I'll start:
Tuesday/Thursday 5:30 a.m. 2nd/Nolana (3-4 miles) My pace is slow. =)

I also run with Team In Training on Saturdays, generally at 5:30 a.m. Our locations change. For more information about the Rio Grande Valley Chapter of Team In Training, please visit www.teamintraining.org. I promise you, I'll be recruiting for the Spring Season later this year!

Welcome back runners!

Welcome to the new Correcaminos Running Club blog!

We have moved from the previous MySpace site to allow for more interaction between members and easier ways to post information, including local races, running tips and anything else that may be of interest.
(FYI: You can comment on any blog posting below by clicking on comments. Share your thoughts.)

This also marks the start of the club's reorganization. We are no longer collecting dues and moving the club to a much looser organizational structure. Although we did try to create a membership based club and it was great for a while and boosted club coffers, participation began to fall off and there was money but people not wanting to spend it! The administration got to be too much, too. I read an article in Runner's World earlier this year about a guy who belongs to a two-person running club. The article's point was that a club is what you make of it, it's not about fancy names, shirts, dues and meetings. A club is about the activity that drew you to the club. For us, that's running ... So, the executive board is of the opinion that the Correcaminos Running Club is going back to its low-key roots. So put on your running shoes and come join us, again!

I'd like for all us to work together to create a listing of where people like to run regularly and what times so we can post it. That way, if you can't make my run, then maybe you can attend somebody else's. I'd like to create more options for people who want run buddies. For now, I'll start us off. I am running Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 5:30 at 2nd and Nolana. Feel free to join me!

The Valley's fabulous racing weather is right around the corner. Start gearing up for the numerous 5Ks and 10Ks by beginning your training regimen!
